PERSONAL WRITING: S2 UNLOCKING THE KEY…

ACADEMIC TASK  We are going to create a piece of PERSONAL writing, using our senses and our ability to organise information into logical patterns

A] SHARE THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION WITH YOUR GROUP: Where you live How many people live at home with you What your favourite activities are Where your best ever holiday/day out was and why [THIS IS REALLY IMPORTANT, SO MAKE SURE YOU LISTEN TO EVERYONE AT THIS POINT!]

TASK TWO  When asked to do so, share the answer to the final question with other members of the class.  If you cannot remember, it is possible to have a group huddle!

Senses  Taking yourbest ever holiday/ day out  Make notes on what you saw  Make notes on what you heard  Make notes on what you felt  Make notes on what you smelled  Make note on what you tasted

Who  Make notes on the people that you went on holiday with/ their appearance, behaviour and characteristics of personality  Make notes on anybody interesting that you met there – and what made them interesting

Where  Write detailed notes on exactly where you went. Describe the place in detail, using colours, senses, place names, and any other feature

When  Be specific on when you went on the holiday – and what the time you went added to the experience.

How and why  Describe how you got to your destination  Describe how you spent your time  Describe why you chose to go where you did  Describe why you enjoyed it so much.

Homework  At home read over your notes from today and think about how you could put these into a logical order to write a detailed account of your experience of your holiday.
