Network related issues: TCP/IP TCP/IP  Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol Basic Unix- and Internet-Protocol Standardprotocol for the networking with different hardware types Necessary, if you want to communicate with the Internet or realize an Intranet Established for networking and the protocol type of the future The Datatransmission of sirona x-ray devices (LAN) is based on TCP/IP. Page 6 - 6

IP Address: Network-ID and Host-ID IP-Address Subnet Mask Network-ID Host-ID Standard IP-Address for Galileos devices: (delivery-condition, can be changed to any other address) Page 6 - 7

IP Address: Network-ID and Host-ID Server Subnet Mask Network-IDHost-ID Every device on the network needs to have the a different Host ID (Street address) and the same Network ID (Zip Code) Galileos Op1-PC Op2-PC Page 6 - 8

IP Address: Network-ID and Host-ID Server Subnet Mask Network-IDHost-ID Every device on the network needs to have the a different Host ID (Street address) and the same Network ID ( Zip Code) Galileos Op1-PC Op2-PC Page 6 - 9

IP Address: Unit address To find out the address of the Gallileos unit do the following on the touch screen: Default: ready to be programmed Static: Unit is programmed DHCP: Unit is in DHCP mode Page

Network connection errors (1): Check media converter lights: (Unplug and plug to see change of status): Page

Network connection errors (2): Start -> Run -> Enter : CMD -> OK; Type in: ipconfig /all and hit ENTER key: Check PC - IP Address: Page

Network connection errors (3): Start -> Run -> Type in: CMD -> OK; Type in: ping IP-Address and hit ENTER key: Test Connection: Page

Software errors: Most software errors are caused by security/user rights or connection problems to different devices on the network. These errors are like “ Cannot contact database”, “cannot establish connection to…”, “a file cannot be accessed, read, written..” Course of action: Make sure that the user has the right to access data, (read write, change). Log in as Administrator and see if it makes a difference. Make sure you can access folders manually. Like start-> run -> \\computername\foldername\filename. Restart RCU services or server(s) if access problem persists. Refer to user\service manual for cause of error. Page
