United States Patent 7, Geissler, Randolph K.November 30,2010  Animal Management System Including Radio Animal Tag and Additional Transceiver(s) Abstract  An animal management system includes a beacon, a radio animal tag configured to monitor the proximity of the animal tag to the beacon, and a reader configured to read information from the animal tag.

United States Patent 7,619,522 Geissler, et al. November 17, 2009  Radio frequency animal tracking system Abstract  The invention is directed to an improved RFID system. The system provides a transponder that can communicate over at least two different frequencies so that the real time performance of the transponder can be improved without losing backwards compatibility. The system provides an improved apparatus and method that allows the end user to customize and program identification tags. The system also provides an ear tag, which may be in button form, for use on livestock with superior durability and overall performance in the field.

United States Patent D591,012 Geissler April 21, 2009  Animal ear tag Claims  CLAIM I claim the ornamental design for an animal ear tag, as shown and described.

United States Patent 6,095,915 Geissler, et al.August 1, 2000  Premise identification system Abstract  An animal tracing system having a parasitic premise information panel for attachment to the stud of an ear tag for use in determining the history and origins of an animal after the animal has been slaughtered, the premise information panel contains a bar code and a numeric code to reveal an animal's history and origin, the panel having sufficient strength to remain attached to the identification panel in day-to-day wear but of sufficient weakness so that a user can remove the premise information panel from the animal ear tag without removing the ear tag from the animal carcass and, along with a blood sample, store the panel therewith until a later date, at which time the premise identification information can be referred to a blood test reveals that the animal has a disease. The tainted carcass can be quickly identified by cross-referencing the premise information panel to the ear tag remaining on the carcass.

United States Patent Application Kind CodeA1 Geissler; Randolph K. ; et al. May 7, 2009  Radio Frequency Animal Tracking System Abstract An RFID system provides a transponder having a power store that can be recharged when located within an electromagnetic field generated by a transceiver unit. The power store can be a battery and/or a capacitor. In certain embodiments, the transponder can communicate over at least two different frequencies so that the real time performance of the transponder can be improved without losing backwards compatibility. The system provides an ear tag for use on livestock with superior durability and overall performance in the field.

United States Patent Application Kind CodeA1 Geissler; Randolph K. ; et al. April 16, 2009  Electronic Tag Abstract  The present disclosure relates to an electronic tag, and more particularly to an electronic tag including an insulating cap. When the electronic tag is being made, the insulating cap is arranged adjacent to heat-sensitive electronic components. The insulating cap protects the electronics from the heat generated when injection molding with hot plastic.

United States Patent Application Kind CodeA1 Geissler; Randolph K. ; et al. March 5, 2009  Animal Management System Including Radio Animal Tag and Additional Transceiver(s) Abstract  An animal management system includes a beacon, a radio animal tag configured to monitor the proximity of the animal tag to the beacon, and a reader configured to read information from the animal tag.

United States Patent Application Kind CodeA1 Geissler; Randolph K. ; et al. March 5, 2009  Hospital Inventory Management Including Radio Tag (s) and Additional Transceiver(s) Abstract  The present invention relates to a hospital inventory management system including a radio tag, a beacon configured to monitor the proximity of the radio tag, and a reader configured to read information from the tag and the beacon.

United States Patent Application Kind CodeA1 Geissler; Randolph K. December 25, 2008  Dispensing container Abstract  A container has a hollow interior divided into a first chamber and a second chamber. Products can be arranged within the first chamber. The second chamber provides a storage area for storing objects, e.g., the product when the user has finished with the product or packaging of the product. The first and second chambers can be dynamically dimensioned. For example, a barrier dividing the first and second chambers can shift and/or flex to modify the dimensions of the chambers.

United States Patent Application Kind CodeA1 Geissler; Randolph K. ; et al.May 1, 2008  Power management in radio frequency devices Abstract  The invention is directed to an improved RFID system. The system provides a tag having a power management unit that selectively powers a transmission unit to transmit at least a first signal having a first frequency. The tag can be configured to transmit a second signal having a second frequency as well. The power management unit selectively powers the transmission unit based on the level of power stored in the tag, a duty cycle associated with the tag, or a combination of the two.

United States Patent Application Kind CodeA1 Geissler; Randolph K. May 10, 2007  Flexible animal tag, printing system, and methods Abstract  The present invention relates to a flexible and/or implantable radio frequency identification system, such as a flexible and/or implantable radio frequency identification system for tracking animals. The present invention relates to a printing system for animal tags, and methods employing the system. The system includes a printer and processor. The processor is configured to direct printing by the inkjet printer on an animal tag of a government identifier and producer specified indicia upon demand by the producer. The printer is configured for durable printing on an animal tag.
