idents By: Tito Akin-Aina

What is idents Idents are little animated video that are used to present or identify themselves before a program. Popular Television stations such as BBC, E4, and CCN tend to have more than one particular idents because it make its more interesting.

When idents started BBC television made the first idents made back in the early Television was black and white and there was not much access to the technology we have in this present day. The idea of an idents is to identify the TV and radio stations. It starts off with basics colors and shape. However technology has greatly evolved and so has the quality of idents. BEFOR E AFTER

How to make idents When idents first started, channel 4 had to travel to air space company in American because there where the only one that had the skills and computer to create idents. All this has changed now however. Technology has made it possible any and everyone to produce a solid idents from home in about 30 minutes. They are different types of software's that enable you to produce idents. i.e Maya, Final Cut, After Effects, Animation. People can also use filming to create a idents.

Why are idents so effective Idents are effective because it is the channel identifier. TV idents have the same purpose brands, as soon as the viewers see the idents their mind will automatically connect

BBC idents BBC began broadcasting their idents during the early 1950s. They where the first British television to have a TV idents. The First TV idents BBC produced in This was the first colored idents produced in This was the first computer generated idents between As you can see, idents has evolved greatly. This is one of the BBC’s most recent idents (2008) In 60 years the BBC has advanced and improved their idents greatly. This doesn't’t only prove that technology is advancing, but it also shows that idents can be created in more than one way. If idents are so advanced now, I wonder how much advancement

ITV1 idents The first ITV ident was created in 1989 Idents was not a big force back in the day because there was hardly any channels back in the days. Today there are various ITV1 idents for not just ITV1 but every other ITV channels they have.

E4 idents The first ever E4 idents was created in Today E4 has one of the best idents on British television. E4 even has competitions which gives views a chance to get creative and the winner gets to be broadcasted.

4 Creative 4 Creative is basically the creative side of E4 that allows people to show case their creativity. They give people that enjoy making; title sequences, brand identities, direct programming, and book online activity. People who have outstanding work sometimes get a job offer.

TV-ark TV ark is a museum for all of the idents that has been created. It showcases idents from the very beginning of when idents was created. It is educational because it also gives vital information. You can search from the start of when idents was created to today’s idents.
