Here’s what you should do

Give credit to the author of the information you are using.

NOT ONLY BOOKS but online encyclopedias, newspapers, YouTube videos, maps, graphs, pictures – everything you use!

THIS IS CALLED A “BIBLIOGRAPHY” This is the name of the last page of your report. This is where you list all those “sources” of information. Put them in ABC order – by author.

BIBLIOGRAPHY (NOT BIOGRAPHY)

LET’S DISSECT “BIBLIOGRAPHY” The root word “graph” means “to write” in Greek. Biblio-GRAPH-y But wait, if you speak Spanish, you are in luck!

What is a bibliotheca? Yes, a library So, biblio—graphy = to write about your library!

NOT TO BE CONFUSED WITH: Biography – bio-graph-y “bio” means life in Greek “graph” means to write To write about life. All biographies are about real people who lived.

WHAT SHOULD IT LOOK LIKE? Here’s an easy cheat code for a bibliography: Think of a Title Page of a book. Everything on the title page of a book should be in a bibliography – even the copyright date on the back (except the illustrator -- nobody cares about the illustrator.  )

HERE’S AN EXAMPLE Campbell, Lisa, My Life on Mars. Atlanta: Apple Valley Publishing, Now think of a title page – voila!
