George Washington’s Precedents

What Is A Precedent? Any act, decision, or case that serves as a guide to the future. A tradition

Bank of America

Precedent #2 Another of George Washington’s precedents was a policy of neutrality associating to foreign wars. People followed this precedent until WWI.

Proclamation of Neutrality

Precedent #3 When George Washington took his oath he set a precedent by performing the oath outdoors and by adding the words “So help me God” to the end of the oath and by kissing the Bible.
