Survey of Genesis: Patriarchal History Isaac (25:12-28:9) −Approximate dates of Isaac - ~ B.C. −Ishmael's and Isaacs Generations (25:12-20) Ishmael had twelve sons known as the twelve princes Ishmael died at age 137 His children settled to the east of Egypt toward Assyria (Saudi Arabia) −Isaac was 123 when Ishmael died Isaac the son of Abraham He was 40 when he married Rebekah −Rebekah was the daughter of Bethuel, her brother was Laban

Isaac prospers (12-17) −God blesses Isaac. −Philistines envied him and stopped up their wells −Abimelech tells Isaac to leave because he has become too powerful −Isaac moves down into the valley of Gerar
