Register at Flushinghighschool.org at College and Career Pathways page  Princeton Review SAT Prep – Flushing HS is offering an after school SAT prep class at a cost of $399. Please see Ms. Stamberg for enrollment information.

What is the SAT and ACT?  The SAT tests student’s basic knowledge in reading, writing, and math.  The ACT test is a national college admissions exam that consists of English, mathematics, reading and science subject areas.  BOTH are universally accepted for college admission. Why take the SAT or ACT?  Most four year colleges require an admissions test like the SAT.  Used with GPAs and high school transcripts, SAT scores allow colleges to fairly compare applicants.  The ACT helps in making yourself visible to colleges and scholarship agencies  The ACT test does not penalize wrong answers and Writing section is optional.

 Tour colleges—in person and virtually through  Write your college essay(s). Verify your colleges need them.  Create a resume that includes all of your jobs and extracurricular activities.  Ask your teachers, coaches or employers for letters of recommendation.  Enjoy your summer internship, youth employment, or volunteer work.  Save Money- Your senior year will be your most expensive year. (senior dues, SAT’s, college application fees, prom, senior trip, yearbook, senior ring, college application fees, postage, etc.).

 Five Youth Leaders staff the College and Career Office daily.
