What is the SAT and ACT? The SAT tests student’s basic knowledge in reading, writing, and math. The ACT test is a national college admissions exam that consists of English, mathematics, reading and science subject areas. BOTH are universally accepted for college admission. Why take the SAT or ACT? Most four year colleges require an admissions test like the SAT. Used with GPAs and high school transcripts, SAT scores allow colleges to fairly compare applicants. The ACT helps in making yourself visible to colleges and scholarship agencies The ACT test does not penalize wrong answers and Writing section is optional.
