Eastern Virginia Medical School supports the mission of the Nebraska – Virginia Alliance in increasing the numbers of traditionally underrepresented groups in the medical and health professions to advance and improve education, patient care, and research.

The program was held May 27 – July 31, 2009 A total of 18 students participated in the 2009 Summer Scholars Program, including four students from Hampton University, an Alliance Partnership institution. Each student received a $3, research stipend.
