Gliwice Gliwice occupy 17th place on the list of the largest Polish cities by area, 18th place on the list of the largest Polish cities by population. It is also the fourth Silesia's largest city by population.

Location of Gliwice City in the southern Poland, in Upper Silesia. The most industrialialzed region of Poland.

The population of Gliwice thousand people 15% of the population of the region population: 1438 inhabitants/km2

History of Gliwice A town since 1276 (Middle Ages) independant town under Chech rule the beginning of big industry (coal mines and steel works) German attack on broadcasting station is the beginning of the second World War return under Polish rule.

Higer level of education Polytechnic- Technical University It educate students in technical subjects such as Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Architecture, Interior Designig, Computer Programing and others. The students recive the title of engineer and Master of Science.

Gliwice in the past Coal and steel industry was well developed in the area. Gliwice coal mine, Guido coal mine, Sośnica coal mine, Wujek coal mine Huta 1 maja – steel works,

Gliwice now Nowadays some of the coal mines are closed and steel works are closed too. But Gliwice still develops as an industrial city with an industrial zone for the new companies and factories.
