Mercury Mercury was named for the swift Roman messenger god who wore winged sandals. It takes only 88 Earth days for Mercury to make one orbit around the Sun. Mercury is a planet of extreme temperatures.

Venus Venus is known the second planet from the Sun. Venus is 67 million miles (108 million kilometers) away from the Sun. Also Venus has no moons at all.

Mars Mars is a planet that has 2 moons. Mars is known as the fourth planet from the Sun. Mars is 141 million miles(227 million kilometers) away from the Sun.

Earth Earth is 93 million miles (149 million kilometers) away from the Sun. Earth is also known the third planet from the Sun. Earth only has 1 moon.

Jupiter Jupiter is 483 million miles (778million kilometers) from the Sun. Jupiter is known that it has 16 moons. Jupiter is the fifth planet from the Sun.

Saturn Saturn is known as the sixth planet from the Sun. Saturn is 887 million miles (1 billion, 416 million kilometers) from the Sun. Saturn has at least 18 moons.
