George Washington Carver: The Peanut Man By Iona James

Project Overview This lesson is designed for first grade students. Students will research the life and inventions of George Washington Carver.

Objectives Students will list the major contributions made by George Washington Carver. Students will increase listening comprehension and use critical thinking skills. Students will read age-appropriate books about George Washington Carver.

Objectives Continued Students will create class book about George Washington Carver. Students will grow a peanut plant, and learn how peanut butter is made.

Assessments Students will be assessed on their ability to recall major contributions made by George Washington Carver. Students will be assessed on the class book about George Washington Carver.
