Mrs. Nunziato KB Saint Francis Cathedral School creates a Catholic atmosphere where children are challenged to develop respect, justice and responsibility while growing intellectually and spiritually into leaders of the 21 st Century.

Communication Our school uses a blog site that will be used to post information to you. You can access our classroom blog via our website. Teacher blogs are a crucial part of the Kindergarten classrooms. These blogs are updated each week with information regarding what is happening in the classroom. Please check these frequently for any reminders/information. Blogs can be found at PARENTS AND STUDENTS tab  TEACHER BLOGS  KB MRS. NUNZIATO There are many ways for open communication. The easiest way to contact your child’s teacher is through a note in your child’s folder or through . All teacher addresses are located at under the ACADEMICS tab  STAFF  MRS. NUNZIATOwww.stfranciscathedralschool.org Also available online is the SFCS E’velope. This is an online packet of weekly information for the school community. It is important to check this each week. User Name: Family Password: knowledGe (password will be changing shortly to: kindNess)

Classroom Rules Classroom rules will be clearly stated the first day of school and reinforced each day. The rules are based on the SFCS code of honor and children are encouraged to be Disciples of Jesus. KB uses a system that helps students take responsibility for their own behavior in the classroom. Green card “You’re doing great” Yellow card “Warning. Pay more attention to your behavior” Red card “Parents are notified and you must sign a behavior form”

Homework and Assessment Homework will be given Monday through Thursday. It will be a reinforcement of the skills taught in school and should be returned in the red folder. A Language Arts Enrichment Paper will be sent home every Monday. Please complete it with your child and return it by Friday.

Kindergarten Grades Children are evaluated through on-going assessment based on our Reading and Math series. Evaluations will go home periodically. Please sign and return them in your child’s red folder. Parent/Teacher Conferences will be held in November. At this time, you will have a chance to discuss your child’s progress with me.

Fun in KB! We celebrate birthdays by receiving a “Homework Pass” for the night and by dressing down. Your child may create a poster to share with the class. Some children may include a photo or a drawing of themselves, their families, pictures of things they like such as favorite colors, foods, toys, etc. They will share the poster with the class and it will be displayed on our bulletin board. KB has a stuffed bear named Buddy that will go home with one child every Friday. You write about your adventures with Buddy in his journal. Please return him to school on Monday. Saint Day: Beginning in October, each week the children will have the opportunity to create a poster about a Saint of their choice.

Reminders If rain is in the forecast, please send your child with a hooded raincoat (NO umbrellas are allowed in Kindergarten for safety reasons). Be sure that all items are clearly labeled (especially gym sweatshirts). Do not send in any toys from home. We are a peanut free school. All snacks/lunch should be peanut free. Please pack a bottle of water with your child each day. We do not have a water fountain in this building. Be sure to let us know how your child will be going home each day. We want to make sure they are on the correct line at dismissal.

More Information Hot Lunch is available for Kindergarten. Please print the lunch menu from the school’s website. Indicate what your child would like and send in a check each month. You may also purchase daily with cash by sending it in an envelope. Curriculum information located at:
