Lesson 7 Usage Pensar, Chequear & Revisar

Pensar means “to think” It has a spelling change in the yo, tú, ella and ellos forms. Pensar Yo PiensoNosotrosPensamos TúTúPiensas Él Ella Ud. Piensa Ellos Ellas Uds. Piensan

Pensar can mean “to think” or “to plan” depending on its usage. Pensar + en = To think about. Pienso en mi hijo. I’m thinking about my son. Pensar = To think Estoy pensando. I’m thinking. Pensar + infinitive verb = To plan to Pienso remitir los documentos. I plan to forward the documents.

Chequear does mean “to check,” but it is borrowed from English Voy a chequear su archivo. I’ll check your file. The “proper” way to say to check is revisar. It also means “to audit.” El IRS va a revisar su declaración The IRS is going to check/audit your return.
