Standard 3: Researching and Information Fluency Students apply digital tools to gather, evaluate, and use information. a. plan strategies to guide inquiry. b. locate, organize, analyze, evaluate, synthesize, and ethically use information from a variety of sources and media.

Research and Information Fluency (cont.) c. evaluate and select information sources and digital tools based on the appropriateness to specific tasks. d. process data and report results.

Specific Examples Use simulations and graphical organizers to explore and depict patterns of growth such as the life cycles of plants and animals.

Activity Instructions 1.Please take out your worksheet 2.Label each stage of the life cycle, then cut out each square along the black line 3.Glue the four stages in order on the blank table 4.Remember the four stages of the Life of a Butterfly are Pupa, Egg, Adult (Butterfly), and Larva

Specific Examples Select and use the appropriate tools and digital resources to accomplish a variety of tasks and to solve problems.

Activity Time Directions: Get into a group around the Digital camera you have been supplied. Demonstrate these tasks to practice this standard. (used for grades 6-12)

Task 1: Turn camera on Task 2: Take picture on "Auto Adjustment" setting Task 3: Take another picture on the "Program Auto" setting but first turn the flash off Task 4: Find the review button on camera and look at photos
