About QUT and Brisbane QUT is one of Australia’s largest universities QUT has three campuses all located in Brisbane, the capital city of the state of Queensland, Australia.campuses Brisbane, with a population of 1.5 million people, is a safe, friendly and culturally diverse city. QUT has 36,000 students including 4500 international students from over 80 countries. QUT offers a broad range of academic courses from bachelor to doctoral level in: Built Environment (includes Architecture, Industrial and Interior Design and Surveying)courses

Location and Campuses QUT's three campuses are located in Brisbane, the capital city of the state of Queensland, Australia. QUT’s campuses are Gardens Point in Brisbane’s city centre, Kelvin Grove just two kilometres from the city, and Carseldine in Brisbane’s north.Gardens PointKelvin GroveCarseldine The campuses each reflect a different aspect of Brisbane’s diverse and cosmopolitan lifestyle, and are easily accessed by public transport.

Gardens Point Campus Gardens Point campus is located in Brisbane’s city centre next to the Brisbane River, the City Botanic Gardens and Parliament. It is the only university campus in Brisbane’s Central Business District. It is within easy walking distance to shops, restaurants, theatres, galleries, and public transport including buses, trains and ferries. Climate Brisbane’s subtropical climate makes it a perfect place to spend time outdoors. Temperatures in Brisbane range from 18 to 30 degrees celsius in summer (December- February) and from 10 to 22 degrees celsius in winter (June-August).

Culture Brisbane has a vibrant and diverse cultural life. The city hosts a year- round feast of local and international festivals, exhibitions and performances. Cultural diversity is a feature of Brisbane, with more than 20 per cent of Brisbane’s population born overseas.

Accommodation QUT's International Office will assist students with finding accommodation. Popular types of accommodation for QUT students include student apartments, shared houses/apartments and homestay (for students who want to live in a family environment). A wide range of accommodation is available to suit all budgets.

Cost of living The main expenses for students are accommodation, food, return travel, tuition fees, textbooks and other materials, clothing, and leisure activities. Transport Brisbane has a comprehensive public transport system. The ‘CityCat’ ferries glide along the river and are the perfect ‘getaway’ from busy streets during peak hours. Buses run frequently to all areas and Queensland Rail runs an extensive ‘CityTrain’ system all over Brisbane.

Brisbane attractions Brisbane has all the attractions you would expect of a major capital city – public gardens and parklands, recreational and sporting facilities, a cultural centre, an exhibition and convention centre, museums, arts galleries, a casino, small and large shopping centres, and a huge variety of cafes, restaurants and bars.

Queensland attractions Brisbane is an hour’s drive away from the world-famous Gold and Sunshine Coasts, with rainforests and National Parks also situated nearby. The islands of Moreton Bay and Stradbroke are also nearby and offer some of the world’s finest surfing beaches and a wide variety of water sports. Other Queensland attractions include the Great Barrier Reef, Fraser Island, the Whitsunday Islands and the Daintree Rainforest.

The School of Construction Management and Property One of five schools in the Faculty of Built Environment and Engineering. It comprises 13 full-time and over 100 part-time academic staff, and five administrative staff. The school also has an adjunct professor and three visiting professors. There are over 700 students currently enrolled on a range of degree courses including:  Construction Management  Quantity Surveying  Property Economics  Project Management at a postgraduate level
