Introduction: Nearly 40 years had elapsed since Crossing the Red Sea. Num. 14:33, 34 One generation had Wasted their lives away in the Wilderness. Num 33 Joshua was 80 years old when he received his commission. Josh. 1: 2

1. The Appointment Joshua Ch. 1 The Circumstances. Josh. 1:1, 2 i. A Period of 40 years of Dearth was Past. Deut. 29:5ff ct. 1:2 ii. Moses, God’s Servant, had Passed away. Deut. 34:7; 32:48-52 cf. Num. 20:7-12 ct. Exo. 17:6 iii. The Time had come to Proceed. Josh. 1:1, 2 b. The Call . Unto Joshua i. It was Personal. 1:1, 9 ii. It was Precise. 1:2-4 iii. It was with Promise. 1:5, 9

The Rushing and Turbulent Jordan River is now a Sewage Cesspool Jordan’s Turbulent Waters - the Step of Faith. 3:15b Jericho’s Threatening Walls – the Stimulus to Fight. 3:16c The Jordan River that in 1847 was described by a U.S. Naval officer as a “deafening roar of the tumultuous waters”. It is today expected to dry up in 2011 according to a team of Israeli, Jordanian and Palestinian environmental scientists. The famous turbulent river that Moses was forbidden to cross over, and Israel refused to cross when the ten spies brought back reports of luscious crops but large fortressed cities of Canaanites and led to a whole generation of Hebrews to die in the wilderness, is now a mere trickle that by next year may dry up completely.  The Rushing and Turbulent Jordan River is now a Sewage Cesspool

As we leave 2010 and enter 2011 LET US… This one thing I do… Pass Over Jordan Press on from Gilgal Possess our Possessions starting with Jericho. This one thing I do… forgetting those things which are behind, reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.
