“Smart” / Selective 16-bit “Smart” means the software can choose when to apply 16-bit processing Default will remain 8-bit (bias towards performance) 16-bit should be auto-enabled in the following cases with Smart 16-bit enabled: 16-bit TIFF Images PS/PDF Images with 16-bit raster elements PS/PDF Images with large (output size) gradient blends
