Select New Project from Project menu to create a new project File.

Every project created in Build-Quant is assigned with a suitable Project Code. Build-Quant later creates files for various floors by appending floor codes to it. Enter No. of Levels, Default Storey Height and Project Title, then click OK. Every project created in Build-Quant is assigned with a suitable Project Code. Select Modify Project from Project menu to change the storey height for Plinth level.

Select Plinth option from Modify Floor Data and click on Modify button

Change Storey height to 1.5 M and click OK.

Click on AutoCAD Icon and open it.

Open the Architectural plan file, which is already made by Architect.

Different types of wall shall be drawn in different layers.

Different layers shall be provided using Layer Properties Manager

The Architectural drawing should be saved in ‘dxf’ format file to open the same file in Build- Quant.

Now, in ENSOFT Build-Quant window, select floor option from Floor menu.

Select Typical Floor from the list of floors to enter the plan.

Now, Build-Quant reads the drawings prepared in AutoCAD.

To have a closer view of Typical Architectural Plan, select Zoom window using right click button of the mouse.

Click on Edit menu. ARC Dwg Data is used to specify parameters of Architectural drawing. Click on Edit menu. ARC Dwg Data is used to specify parameters of Architectural drawing.

ARC Parameters is used to edit control parameters of Architectural drawing.

Wall schedule is used to edit wall type data.

Door schedule is used to edit door type data.

Window schedule is used to edit window type data.

Plaster schedule is used to edit plaster type data.

Flooring schedule is used to edit flooring type data.

Select View Drawing option of the Floor menu. View Drawing option is for viewing and generating the single line drawings in Build-Quant. Select View Drawing option of the Floor menu. View Drawing option is for viewing and generating the single line drawings in Build-Quant.

Select ARC Original option to view original Architectural drawing.

Select ARC Single Line option to generate single line Architectural drawing.

Single line Architectural drawing is generated.

To select Zoom window option, use right click button of the mouse.

View the numbers of the Single line Architectural drawing, using small particular window.

Architectural as well as RCC quantities can be generated by using ‘ View Quantities.’

Immediately, Wall and Plaster quantities are calculated.

Open the AutoCAD window.

Open the RCC Plan drawing in AutoCAD

Save the AutoCAD RCC drawing in the ‘dxf’ format to open in Build-Quant Software.

Hence, save as ‘Sample-Typ-RCC.dxf’ Hence, save as ‘Sample-Typ-RCC.dxf’

To see the details of RCC drawing, select zoom window, using right click of the mouse.

The slab area shall be marked by two cross lines which shall be connected to the corners of the slab. The slab number text shall be marked at the intersection of slab cross lines. Different layers shall be entered in different layer names with different colours.

Layers can be selected from object properties toolbar.

RCC Parameters option is to edit control parameters of RCC drawing.

Enter RCC Parameters in Edit RCC Parameters option.

Click on Beam Double Line Layers.

Mentioned the layer names on which the beam double lines are drawn in original RCC plan.

Then, Select on Slab Cross Line Layers option.

Enter the layer names on which the slab lines are drawn in original RCC plan.

Select RCC Cover Parameters option.

RCC Parameters option is to change the RCC parameters ( e.g. Columns, Beams, Slabs, Footings etc.) required for quality estimation.

Slab RCC Parameters shall be as given below.

Column RCC Parameters shall be as given below.

Footing RCC Parameters shall be as given below.

Select RCC Single Line option.

Modify Schedules option of the ‘Floor’ menu is for editing the design schedules.

Beam Schedule is for modify or create Beam schedule.

On the left hand side of the dialog box, all the beam numbers are listed in a tree like structures indicating the groups in which they lie. The right hand side of the dialog box displays all the groups generated during beam design and the various parameters related to the particular group. A detailed Sketch can be observed by selecting Sketch option.

Select Slab Schedule from Modify Schedule option, to modify or create Column schedule.

The slab schedule consist of slab numbers, thickness of slab, reinforcement details etc.

To select the format for Quantities of Beam press OK.

The Beam / Slab quantity report is generated.

To copy the Floor, click on Copy Floor option in Utilities menu.

Select the Typical Floor Option in Floor List as a Source Floor and Plinth Floor as a destination floor.

To copy the Typical Floor to Plinth or Roof Floor, select Typical Floor as a Source Floor and Plinth as a destination Floor.

Select Floor option from Floor menu to see copied floor.

Select Plinth option from Select Floor dialog box.

To view original RCC drawing, select RCC Original option from View Drawings.

Original RCC drawing is appeared on the screen.

To generate Single Line RCC drawing, select RCC Single Line option from View Drawings.

Single Line RCC drawing is generated.

Click on Column Schedule to modify / create Columns.

Copy Floor option is used to minimize data input by copying all files of one level to other level.

Select the Typical Floor Option in Floor List as a Source Floor and Roof Floor as a destination Floor.

For the Roof Floor, provide Parapet walls and delete internal walls.

Select the Wall / Plaster option from View Quantities to generate Wall / Plaster quantity report.

Select Beam / Slab option from View Quantities option to generate Beam / Slab quantity report.

To find out total Project Quantities select Build Project Quantities from Project menu.

Select All Floors option to get Project quantities.
