Utility Outage (Steam & Electrical) Commencing March 21, 2009

March 21 st Utility Outage Why are we doing this? What utilities will be shut off? How soon we will have them back on line? What maintenance is being completed? Who will be affected?

Why Are We Doing This? Mechanical Systems deteriorate –This is a systematic plan to:  Repair known problems  Extend the life of our equipment  To allow for major infrastructure improvements: –Siceluff Hall – Renovation –Electrical Spine – Freudenberger Hall Switches Scheduled for March 21 st –Weekend before Spring Break Heads Up: –One more Electrical Outage - May 2009

Utilities Affected: STEAM –Hot water –Kitchens –Humidity Control (Library) ELECTRICITY DOMESTIC WATER –No booster Pumps (above 5 th floor) –No hot water heaters CHILLED WATER FOR A/C

Steam System Shut Off: Saturday March 21 st at 1:00 am –Scope: Supports the Electrical Outage Steam Distribution System Repairs Condensate System Repairs –This is water returned to the boiler Turn On: Saturday March 21st - 2 hours after Electrical Power is restored.
