RĂŞNOV FORTRESS One of the biggest rural fortresses in medieval Romania, Răşnov was a safe place of refuge for people when the city was under attack.
When was it built? Răşnov Fortress was built about 800 years ago on a rocky hilltop, elevated at about 150 m above in the small town of Răşnov.
Where is it located? It is located 15 km southwest of Brasov. The fortress is in the Bran Pass, a trade route connecting Wallachia with Transylvania
