We see WORKKEYS® as a critical part of our transformational effort WorkKeys® creates a portable standard that can be universally recognized and understood anywhere in Michigan, but also nationwide. WorkKeys® is not just a high-school initiative--it is also relevant to those already on the job. There are 13,000 existing job profiles, which can be used to better understand existing and future workplace needs. WorkKeys® is a total package--it doesn’t just assess people and then leave them out in the cold if they fall short. KeyTrain is a valuable tool that helps employees move up the training ladder to reach the desired goal.

MMIT WorkKeys® Activities In November 2006 David Herrala made an informative and inspirational presentation to the Board about Dow’s commitment to WorkKeys MMIT Board passed a resolution supporting WorkKeys as a competency-based assessment Partnered with the Detroit Regional Chamber and West Michigan Strategic Alliance on a state-wide effort to promote WORKKEYS to government, education and business leaders MSU, a MMIT partner, has graciously agreed to fund Mid Michigan’s 2008 high school graduates to take the Locating Information assessment so they can qualify for the National Career Readiness Certificate; also pay for retake of WORKKEYS tests on MME when score is under 3.
