IS SCRIPTURE REALLY TRUE? As Catholics, we believe two important principles:

INSPIRATION A divine influence upon human beings resulting in the writing of Scripture. That is, inspired by God, written by men. Since all of the Bible is the word of God written through the influence of the Holy Spirit, the Bible reveals the truth.

INNERRANCY While there are minor errors in Scripture (dates, names etc…) there is NO ERROR in the message itself.

Kinds of Truth 1.Religious - God tries to communicate with people through their lives. 2.Moral - “Thou shalt not kill.” 3.Symbolic - “If your eye causes you to sin, pluck it out.” 4.Proverbial - “The early bird catches the worm.” 5.Historical - Jesus was born in Bethlehem and lived his young life in Nazareth. 6.Scientific = 4
