Chad Larsen Serving with Wycliffe to reach the last languages with the gospel
Nearly 7,000 languages are spoken in the world today.
Only 500 languages out of the 7,000 languages have the entire Bible.
More than 2,300 of those languages have no Scripture translated.
That’s approximately 200 million people without the Word of God in a language that speaks to their heart.
From these Bibleless language communities, over 2.4 million people die annually without God’s Word in their language.
Wycliffe is committed to accelerating the rate of new language translations in response to this incredible need, so that an accurate Bible translation would be in progress in every language needing one by the year 2025.
Why?
Because everyone should have the chance to hear God’s Word in a language they understand best.
People’s lives are changed when they hear God’s message of love in their own language, and Wycliffe’s work is critical to making that happen.
The Bible isn’t the only thing translated into minority languages.
In addition to Scripture, other materials are translated—things like health information, cultural stories, and trauma healing literature.
This holistic approach truly impacts every aspect of a person’s life—spiritual, emotional and physical.
“The greatest missionary is the Bible in the mother tongue….” William Cameron Townsend Founder of Wycliffe Bible Translators
I’m excited to be a part of what God is doing through Bible translation! How I FIT IN
Translations, dictionaries, health books, etc. take decades to produce through translation. Storage and transfer to current electronic formats is needed to preserve them for future use. This preservation is my job. How I FIT IN
By God’s grace I will continue to preserve translations, dictionaries, health books, etc. MY NEXT sTEPS
Southeast Asia Where Do I Serve
I can’t do this alone! PARTNER WITH ME
As I continue on this adventure, I welcome your prayers, encouragement and financial partnership. PARTNER WITH ME
-God’s hand on my coworkers and myself as we work together as a team to serve Bible translation projects. -More laborers to help get the Bible, God’s love letter, into every person’s language. They have lived long enough in darkness without Jesus wondering if God cares enough about them to speak their language.
Help children write cards and send letters. Make sure to tell me how to write back because then I can share the Asian culture with them.
