Fear in The Village The people in The Village were scared of the color red and of “The people we don’t speak of”. The Elders had told the people of the village that there were creatures in the woods so the people would not wonder out into the woods. The color red was supposed the attract them, that’s why they dislike the color red and always would avoid it.

Fear at Riverside People at Riverside fear bullies because they could pick on people. People of Riverside also fear the thought of bad grades and failing so they get held back or even summer school.

Scapegoats in The Crucible The Innocent people that accused of being witches in the town were the scapegoats because the took the blame for everything that was happening.

Scapegoats in The Village The creatures that were said to live in the woods were the scapegoats.

Scapegoats at Riverside The scapegoats at Riverside are the people in charge of keeping the school in check. If something bad happens they would be to blame.
