The Crucible – Slippery Slope Example “Thomas, Thomas, I pray you, leap not to witchcraft. I know that you – you least of all, Thomas, would ever wish to disastrous a charge laid upon me. We cannot leap to witchcraft. They will howl me out of Salem for such corruption in my house.” Parris Act I – Pg. 172 Parris takes something that is minuet which would be Parris discussing about witchcraft, then they jump to a wild assumption that it would lead to him being thrown out of Salem.

The Crucible – Slippery Slope Example “My proof is there! If Jacobs hangs for witch he forfeits up his property-that’s law! And there is none but Putnam with the coin to buy so great a piece. This man is killing his neighbors for their land!” Giles Act III – Pg. 214 Jacobs being blamed for being witch shows that they care nothing about his life, but of his land. Causing this simple accession to lead to someone else getting his land.

The Crucible – Slippery Slope Example “Courage man, Courage-let her witness your good example that she may come to God herself.” Danforth Act IV – Pg. 237 Danforth is saying how something is as simple as Proctor confessing would lead to something as huge as Rebecca Nurse coming to God.
