The Parable of the Wide and Foolish Builders Matthew 7:24-29

Step 1: Hear How can we hear God speak? Desire – do you want to hear God speak? Opportunity – are you creating opportunities for God to speak to you? Blockages – is anything getting in the way? Ask – the Holy Spirit to help you hear

Step 2: Obey Moving from information to transformation? Ask for help! We need day by day filling of the Holy Spirit. Application – ask “what do I need to do?” (John 14:21; 1 John 2:3-6; James 1:22) Barriers – what stops us putting Jesus’ words into practice? E.g. fear, pride, laziness…

Step 3: Prepare How can we make sure we are prepared? Know that storms will happen Put in ‘small acts of obedience’ as your foundations Allow God to speak to you in the storm Know that Jesus will return Think regularly about this – it is both a warning and a incredible hope
