 Born July 4 th  Born in San Francisco, CA.  He had a degree in engineering.  He worked at an engineering plant, but after a few weeks decided that it wasn’t for him.  He was known best for his inventions.

 There are six basic types of simple machines:  Levers, screws, inclined planes, wheel && axles, pulleys, and wedges.  Simple machines help make work easier.  They use energy to work.

AA Rube Goldberg contraption performs a simple task in a very complicated way. SSome of his inventions even included a large animal to help complete the task. MMost of the inventions started out as cartoons he drew.

The shop keeper trips over a banana peel kicking up a rake. The rake makes the horseshoe hit a wire making a a string attached to a watering can sprinkling the mop getting it wet. Some of the water wakes up the dog that knocks over the sign,. The sign knocks into the mop making it swivel back && forth. The mop then washes the window.

 Rube drew a cartoon called “Foolish Questions” for about 25 years.  Rube had an award named after him called the Ruben award.  16dyV4Du8 16dyV4Du8
