Planning Ahead – Work-Based Learning This program is for students 16 years or older. This program allows students to receive high school credit while developing skills in the workplace. Students do not have to have employment prior to entering this program; however, the student should have a job in his/her program concentration area to participate. Students in this program must have a driver’s license, student parking permit, and have personal transportation to participate in this program.

Planning Ahead - Dual Enrollment This program allows students 16 years and older to take courses for high school and college credit. Students must meet enrollment requirements of the college. Please see your counselor for more information.

Planning Ahead-Pathways There are three pathways that start during a student’s junior year. These pathways are dual enrollment with Savannah Technical College: –Welding Pathway (will need to take Industry Fundamental and Occupational Safety during 9 th or 10 th grade year as a pre-requisite) –Cosmetology Pathway –Law Enforcement Services Pathway

Sophomore Checklist!! Meet with your school counselor to discuss your education (pathway options, college admission exams, etc.) Learn about dual enrollment options for earning and funding college credit while still in high school. All sophomores will take the PSAT in October. Start exploring colleges to see what their requirements are for college admission.

Sophomore Checklist!! Track your GPA eligibility for the HOPE Scholarship (you can do this on GACollege411.org) Participate and volunteer in extracurricular activities…this looks good on a college application!!
