Cast away

character Hanks stars as Chuck Noland, a FedEx systems engineer whose personal and professional life are ruled by the clock. His fast-paced career takes him, often at a moment's notice, to far-flung locales - and away from his girlfriend Kelly, played by Helen Hunt.

Helen hunt stars as Kelly Fears, her presence runs throughout the movie, because the memory of Kelly is the one thing that keeps Chuck alive when he’s on that island.

While that memory is essential to Chuck’s survival on the island, a critical part of his trans formation there begins with his unusual friendship with “Wilson,” a volleyball that has washed ashore inside a FedEx package from the doomed flight.

Plot summary Chuck's manic existence abruptly ends when, after a plane crash, he becomes isolated on a remote island cast away into the most desolate environment imaginable. Stripped of the conveniences of everyday life, he first must meet the basic needs of survival, including water, food and shelter. Chuck, the consummate problem solver, eventually figures out how to sustain himself physically. But then what? Chuck begins his true personal journey. Chuck, the consummate problem solver, eventually figures out how to sustain himself physically. But then what? Chuck begins his true personal journey. After four years, fate gives Chuck a chance to fight his way back to civilization, only to find an unexpected emotional challenge greater than all the earlier physical ones. His ability to persevere and to hope are a product of his life-changing experience. Though the conclusion of Chuck's story may not be a conventional Hollywood ending, it is, like life, full of truth, pain and promise. Theme & discussion 1.The independence on civilization 2.Spiritual support of life 3.Companion 4.experienced 2.What would you do if you were Kelly when you saw Chuck? 1.The difference between existence and livelihood

Civilization brings us a lot of convenience and comfort, but is it everything? We must start fire with gas or technological methods? Do we have to catch by grim tools or giant boat? It seems that we lead a cozy life by such ways. We are absorbed in a world like illusion, a technology illusion. Sometime, I still find originality, why I don’t find it in my life. All that I see is just fake and vacuum. I only think that my worn jeans are real and original. Actually, originality is the most beautiful thing on earth. We don’t need too many moderated things. The world is too chaos. Let’s have a simplest life. Simplism. Keep the original civilization.
