Lourdes University ~ Fall 2013 Campus Ministry The Franciscan Factor!

Are you looking for ways to connect? Welcome to the Community! A Community of Learning A Community of Reverence A Community of Service

Campus Ministry serves the entire University community by calling forth the gifts and talents of students, administration, faculty, staff and alumni. The interaction of our diverse faith traditions enriches campus life. Our goal is to help create a community whose faith is alive, informed, and active. Our framework is one of Franciscan values, traditions and spirit. Consider Campus Ministry

Weekly noon liturgies Monthly Sunday evening Mass & Fellowship Soup & Scripture Prayer Services & Retreats Prayer LINK Send prayer requests to Sr. Ann Carmen: Walk with Francis Learn about Francis of Assisi through a campus prayer pilgrimage. Ice Cream Socials Get to know the Sisters & others in the Sylvania Franciscan Village. Campus Ministry is a way to get involved in helping others and showing Gods love through serving others. For me it has been a chance to meet some awesome people and learn the true meaning of living your life in service for God. -Elijah (Junior, Pre-Med)

Looking for… Outreach LINKS? Helping Hands of St. Louis Soup Kitchen Join our Kitchen Crew on the 3 rd Friday of each month. Habitat for Humanity Be a part of our alternative Spring Break Team or volunteer locally. Josina Lott Residential & Community Services Join us for Games Night. Bethany House Volunteer at a residence for victims of domestic violence. Sylvania Area Family Services Support their Food pantry & youth programs. Adopt a Highway Help maintain “our” stretch of I-475. Community Issues Lend your voice and energy on issues promoting justice and peace: March for Life, Tent City and others. Since I've come to know many of the people who are involved in Campus Ministry, it has become much like a family to me. There are people I know I can talk to, and I can meet new people. Being involved in Campus Ministry – for me – is my way of getting out, meeting new people, learning new things, and helping others in the community. I enjoy helping others, and Campus Ministry gives me a way to do just that. - Nick (Sophomore, History)

To me it has been a safe place away from home where people (Laurie, Sisters Barb & Ann Carmen and Tim) all care about us and what is going on! It gets us involved in a comfortable atmosphere. It’s a place to go if you have a problem and people care. I don’t know what I would have done my first year without Campus Ministry. - Kristin (Sophomore, Pre-Nursing) Campus Ministry means always having a place to belong and to feel welcome at Lourdes. Being in Campus Ministry has been the bomb.com - Hanna (Sophomore, Pre-Nursing) To me, Campus Ministry was an opportunity to get involved in the community of Lourdes and Sylvania Through Campus Ministry I have met many amazing people and made lifelong friends. - Sarah (Sophomore, Pre-Nursing)
