Why use Triggers, Hovers, and Links? To make functional prototypes of elearning in order to: –Show how interactivity works –Demonstrate the learning that can take place –Illustrate true gaps in learning, interactivities –Identify development area issues May require additional resources May require re-design

What is a “trigger”? A trigger is just an item on your slide When you click the item - it sets off an action The action might be a sound, a movie, or an animation, such as text becoming visible on the slide or another item showing up somewhere else This can be an item

What is a “hover”? “Hover” is the action of moving your mouse over an item (without clicking) Actions can be assigned to mouse hovers (as well as mouse clicks), such as: –Go to the next slide or previous slide –Go to the first slide or last slide –Go to the most recent slide viewed –Go to a specific slide number that you specify –Go to a different PowerPoint presentation –Launch a Web page –Run a program or a macro –Play a sound.

6.Click on down arrow of animation 7.Select Timing 8.Click Triggers and select Start effect on click of: Shape 1

9.Select Shape 1 10.Add Disappear animation

11.Click on down arrow of animation 12.Set animation to Start With Previous

13.Move Disappear animation ( ) below Appear animation ( ) in Animation Pane

Repeat Steps 4-13 for the other shape Test your work in Slide Show mode

3.Right-click on the slide and select Duplicate Slide

4.On the new slide, click Insert > Shapes and select a Callout

5.Draw a callout and enter text

6.Select the object on the first slide you created 7.On the Insert ribbon, select Action

8.Click the Mouse Over tab

9.Select the Hyperlink to: radio button 10.Using the drop down arrow, select Next Slide

Test your work in Slide Show mode
