Prevalent Numbers Dec 2012 Increase 6.5%, transplant 10%, Sat/hosp 3%, PD & HHD 8% each
Incident PD patients have increased (mainly yr) whilst HD has decreased. Only 1 in 4 start on PD.
Incident HD (includes home) patients are trending younger with 57% under 65 years. PD and HD patients are similar ages.
Home Dialysis as a % of all dialysis Australia, QLD, ACT, Vic and SA increased their home dialysis percentage
Total 31% on home dialysis (up 4%)
High home dialysis rates but HHD decreasing. Low transplant prevalence.
PD up by 2%. Satellite/ hosp rates high
Increase in PD and transplant prevalence
Decrease in PD with increase in satellite. High transplant % overall
Increase in PD. Highest transplant %. HHD up slightly.
Increase in HHD but decrease in PD. Transplant prevalence low.
Decrease in PD but trend increase in HHD.

Conclusion Changes to prevalence and incidence of treatment options are slow but there are changes occuring. This is more evident in some states than others.
