If Not! IS THE PROJECT AT LEAST NOT INCONSISTENT WITH THE PLANS AND POLICIES OF THE GOVERNMENT At the practical level this implies DOES THE PROJECT CONFORM TO ALL THE SECTORAL PLANS (MINISTRIES/AGENCIES) OF THE COUNTRY

CDM Project Opportunities in Bangladesh 1.Methane recovery from landfill with or without electricity generation 2.Composting of urban solid waste 3.Biogas from a wide variety of waste, such as: -Poultry Droppings -Tannery Waste -Effluent from food processing industries -Human Excreta -Sewage Treatment 4.Solar Home System in off grid areas 5.Efficient Lamps to replace incandescent light bulbs 6.Fuel substitution and efficiency improvement in brick manufacturing 7.Sugar cogeneration

1.Formulation of national CDM policy and strategy, such as developing national sustainable development criteria. 2.Selecting CDM sectors and project type (such as energy, agriculture, forestry, industry, waste management etc.) 3.Selection of technology options/imports. 4.Equitable distribution of project in different regions of Bangladesh. 5.Benefit sharing. 6.Approval of projects to be sent to CDM Board for endorsement. Terms of Reference of CDM Committee

1.The CDM Board would provide the Government endorsement for the projects approved by the National CDM Committee 2.The CDM Board would provide necessary guidance to National CDM Committee 3.Facilitate smooth implementation of CDM projects by sorting inter-ministerial issues involved in CDM projects. Terms of Reference of CDM Board
