BUTLER DISMISSAL INFORMATION FOR PARENTS All students with siblings will go to their youngest sibling’s teacher prior to the bell. For instance, if you have a 5 th grader and a 1 st grader at Butler, you will pick up both students from the 1 st grade location. Please see the dismissal map for grade level locations and designated grade level loading zones. Students will be loaded into cars by teachers and staff. Parents remain in the car while in the loading zones. Please respect the four crosswalk lanes and stop when directed for student loading. For 5 th and 6 th graders without younger siblings, please note that parents need to pull up curb side for pick up. All students will remain with their teacher in the grade level designated location until 3:35 At 3:35 all students who have not been picked up will wait inside the front office. The child or staff will call the parent about their ride home. Parents will sign out their child when they pick up out of the front office. Only students who have been picked up by a parent/released by the teacher to the parent will be allowed to remain on campus and play on the school grounds. All students who walk home need to walk directly home. Kindergarten is the only grade not picked up in the front loading zone. Kindergarten students are dismissed to a parent by our teachers in the back of the campus by our kindergarten pod. Kindergarten parents may park in the empty spaces in the teacher parking lot, the west side of Rocky Canyon, or on a side street. Our first priority is student safety. Storm/Rain Dismissal Procedures During heavy rain or imminent storm conditions, students will exit our building from the following locations: Kindergarten dismissal remains the same. Students with younger siblings will still go to the youngest sibling’s teacher prior to the bell. 1 st, 2 nd, and 3 rd graders will be exiting the building out of the main entrance doors to the building. Teachers will still load students into cars or the parent may park on a side street, west side of Rocky Canyon, or empty spaces in the teacher lot to walk up and get their child. 4 th grade will exit the building through the door by the gym. This door exits out to the map and the large planter box in the front of the school.
