Home Institution Innovator Our Innovation Visit Us Contact North Seattle Community College North Seattle Community College (NSCC), an accredited, two-year public college located on a beautiful campus in the North Seattle area, is part of the Seattle Community College District. With approximately 16,000 students served annually, NSCC offers more than 60 career training certificates and 30 associate degrees, including five transfer degree programs. The college has a reputation for diversity, innovation and academic excellence. NSCC serves multiple goals for its students: strong preparation for transfer to a four-year school or training for a career, completion of high school as an adult, college classes for students still enrolled in high school, retraining and enhancement of workplace skills for the displaced worker, or simply educational enrichment. Seniors, veterans and current members of the military, international students, and non- native speakers seeking stronger English language skills are all accommodated in North’s programs. The college also partnerships with local industry to provide customized training programs for incumbent workers.

Home Institution Innovator Our Innovation Visit Us Contact A New Concept in Integrated Services: The Opportunity Center for Employment and Education The Opportunity Center for Employment and Education (OCE&E) brings together multiple state agencies and local services under one roof to provide seamless employment and education services and public assistance benefits to the community, including the unemployed, the underemployed and their families. Created through legislation sponsored by Washington State Rep. Phyllis Gutiérrez Kenney and championed by Speaker of the House Frank Chopp, the OCE&E opened in May 2011 as the first all-in-one location of its kind in the state. The center expands the limits of separate service delivery systems to create a streamlined experience where customers can achieve self-sufficiency through education and employment. Thousands of King County residents benefit annually. The Department of Social and Health Services, WorkSource Affiliate North Seattle and North Seattle Community College are the major OCE&E partners, making the additional support of college preparation, financial literacy, access to training, financial aid and counseling services available to all OCE&E clients.
