Black Plague The Black Plague swept across Europe, Asia, and Africa. It killed almost 75,000,000 people!

William Harvey Discovered that blood in human and animal bodies doesn’t just sit there it circulates, all through the body. The heart is the pump that makes it move.

Edward Jenner Sure that diseases had natural causes. Guessed that the body developed some means to fight the disease. Guessed that once the body developed antibodies to cowpox they would be able to fight off smallpox. Edward Jenner

Louis Pasteure Had to prove that living things did not come from nonliving things which many believed. Began conducting experiments on animals with anthrax. Pasture was able to develop a vaccine for anthrax.
