Malaria

Malaria is caused by a parasite called Plasmodium, which is transmitted via the bites of infected mosquitoes. In the human body, the parasites multiply in the liver, and then infect red blood cells.

Malaria The signs and symptoms of malaria typically begin 8–25 days following infection. Symptoms of malaria include fever-chill alternately, headache, and vomiting, hemolytic anemia, jaundice, hemoglobinuria, retinal damage, and convulsions.

Malaria Diagnosis: Malaria is typically diagnosed by the microscopic examination of blood using blood films to find Plasmodium. Treatment Malaria is a medical emergency that requires a hospital stay. Chloroquine is often used as an anti-malarial medication. However, chloroquine- resistant infections are common in some parts of the world.

Malaria Prevention Most people who live in areas where malaria is common have gotten some immunity to the disease. Visitors will not have immunity, and should avoiding mosquito bites and take preventive medications. Antimalarial medications decrease the risk of developing symptomatic malaria. But they do not provide 100% protection against the disease. The type of antimalarial medication should use depends on the areas people will visit. No vaccine is available.

Malaria Die rate is different up to the type of Plasmodium have infected. Common case have low die rate. Severe case may infect brain, die rate can reach 9%-31%
