Planning to achieve CCSS Implementation Goals Using a Structured Planning & Problem-Solving Process to Support CCSS Implementation

Agenda Session 1 Activity: –Principal PLC “wish list” for CCSS Implementation –District team analysis of Day 2 Priorities Prepare for Day 3 3:30 PM Team-based Planning Activity. Prepare for Day 4 9:15 AM Team-based Planning Activity.

Principal PLC Directions See Handout: “Identifying CCSS Resources & Supports for Your School” for Day 3. Organize into small PLC groups Goal: Develop “wish list” of what support are needed from district leadership to support school level priorities to implement CCSS.

DLT Day 3 Session Directions See Handout: “Identifying School-based CCSS Needs” for Day 3 –Review/analyze SBLT Day 2 priorities for common and unique patterns. –Compare with DLT Day 2 priorities to implement CCSS. –What priorities/needs are common at the school and district level? –Discuss potential follow-up needed to support SBLTs priorities for implementing CCSS at their schools.

PREPARING FOR TEAM PLANNING AT *3:30 PM – 5:00 PM Day 3: Identifying Priorities Related to integration of CCSS at Your School/District & Identifying Planning Targets/Goals.

What to expect? School-based teams; District-based teams Day 3 Planning Goals: 1.5 min – As a team discuss and rate your staffs’ level of readiness for integrating CCSS on scale of 1 (lowest) to 10 (highest). 2.(SBLT 40 min) (DLT 10 min) – As a team discuss and list the top 2 most important things you have to do to integrate CCSS.

Also - Planning Targets/Goals (45 min) Selecting Planning Targets: 1.Consider ratings for Days 1-3 a.Will your team focus on awareness, implementation, or integration of CCSS based on your ratings? 2.Identify top 2 priorities from the 6 total that you developed from Days 1-3 consistent with your team’s focus for planning. 3.Consider Reflection Journal responses, and Brainstorm and list as a team, potential resources & barriers for each of the 2 priorities you selected. 4.Choose one barrier for each of the two priorities that you want to create a plan to reduce or eliminate.

PREPARING FOR DAY 4: ADVANCED GUIDANCE AND RECOMMENDATIONS

Preparing for Day 4 Developing Your Action Plan –Goal: create plans to target reduction or elimination of barriers prioritized in Day 3. –Develop strategies to address priority barriers. –SIP/DIAP selected sections will be used to record planning actions developed on Day 4 based on action steps developed. –Directions for process of SBLT selection and panel presentation.
