Sweet and Sour Secrets Pickle Mountain Elementary School

Once upon a time, in the Valley of Pickle Mountain lived the pickle children. Some of them had secrets. Fortunately Pickle Mountain Elementary School had a school counselor, Mr. Green, who taught them what to do about secrets.

This is what Mr. Green said:

because they make you feel good. Some secrets make you feel happy. They make you smile and giggle. These are sweet secrets because they make you feel good. It is okay to keep sweet secrets quiet. You do not have to tell sweet secrets.

Some secrets make you feel badly Some secrets make you feel badly. They can make you worry, feel sick, or feel sad. We call these sour secrets. Always tell sour secrets! Tell them to an adult who cares about you and will help you.

Then Mr. Green told the little pickles, “There are many adults who care and will listen to your secrets. You can tell a sour secret to a parent, a grandparent, a neighbor, a teacher, or any adult who cares about you. If one adult doesn’t listen, keep telling your sour secret until someone listens and helps you.”

Last of all Mr. Green reminded the little pickles that a school counselor is a person who always listens to secrets: sweet or sour secrets!

Some of the little pickle children did have secrets and they came to talk with Mr. Green. Listen to their secrets so that you will know what to do if you have a secret.

sweet secret with me. We will keep sweet secrets quiet. Wow Sammy, your Grandma is going to be so happy! Thanks for sharing your sweet secret with me. We will keep sweet secrets quiet. Mr. Green, my Grandma is coming to visit today and we have a secret. My Mommy is going to tell her that she’s having a baby! I’m going to be a big brother!

My teacher said she is going to call my mom and tell her that I have been very good today! Don’t tell Mommy, Mr. Green. I want to keep it a secret and surprise her. I have a secret too. We are planning a surprise birthday party for my brother. I love hearing all the sweet secrets the little pickles have at Pickle Mountain Elementary! Thanks for sharing girls. I’ll keep your sweet secrets quiet!!!

“I wish all the secrets at Pickle Mountain Elementary School were sweet secrets, but they are not,” said Mr. Green. “Some of the little pickles have sour secrets.”

Is this secret sweet or sour? Mr. Green Duggy and his little brother were scared last night. There was lots of yelling and fighting at their house. The police came, but they are not suppose to talk about it. Is this secret sweet or sour? Do you think Duggy and his brother should tell their secret or keep it quiet?

Is this secret sweet or sour? Sally told Mr. Green that someone touched her body in a way that didn’t feel nice, but they told her to not to tell anyone. Is this secret sweet or sour? Should Sally tell her secret or keep it quiet?

Mr. Green Mr. Green said, “Sally, come into my office and tell that sour secret.” Sally told Mr. Green all about what happened. Mr. Green helped Sally, and Sally is feeling much better.

sweet Sour. Mr. Green always listened to their secrets. The boys and girls at Pickle Mountain Elementary had lots of secrets. Some secrets were sweet and some were Sour. Mr. Green always listened to their secrets.

He always kept the sweet ones quiet,

You must always tell sour secrets. …..But not the SOUR ones!!!! You must always tell sour secrets. Mr. Green knew just how to help with those.

Mr. Green Mr. Green always helped the pickle children with sour secrets. Sometimes he talked with other adults and asked them to help too.

Mr. Green taught all the little pickles a song to help them remember what to do about secrets. You can learn the song and sing it any time you have a secret. You don’t have to be a little pickle to sing!

Way Down Yonder at the Pickle Patch Where, oh, where are all the children? Where, oh, where are all the children? Where, oh, where are all the children? Way down yonder at the pickle patch. Telling secrets to adults. Telling secrets to adults. Telling secrets to adults. Way down yonder at the pickle patch. Some are sweet and some are sour. Some are sweet and some are sour. Some are sweet and some are sour. Way down yonder at the pickle patch. Keep the sweet ones, tell the sour ones. Keep the sweet ones, tell the sour ones Keep the sweet ones, tell the sour ones. To a grown-up who cares about you.
