Aiming High for Disabled Children: Short Breaks Definition ‘opportunities for disabled children and young people to spend time away from their primary carers. These include day, evening, overnight or weekend activities and take place in the child’s own home, the home of an approved carer, or a residential or community setting.’ DCSF/ DoH

Aiming High for Disabled Children: Eligibility Criteria ‘use fair, understandable and transparent eligibility criteria that enable short breaks to be used as a preventative service and which do not restrict provision to those threatened by family breakdown or other points of crisis’ AHDC Implementation Guidance
