Return Address & Date In personal-business letters, the return address consists of a line for the –street address and one for the –city, state, and ZIP Code. Key the month, day, and year on the line below the city, state, and ZIP Code

Letter Address & Salutation Key the first line of the letter address a quadruple space below the date. A personal title (Miss, Mrs., Mrs., Ms.) or a professional title is typically used before the receiver's name. Key the salutation (greeting) a double space below the letter address.

Body Begin the letter body (message) a double space below the salutation. Single space the paragraph with a double space between paragraphs.

Complimentary Close & Name of Writer Key the complimentary close (farewell) a double space below the last line of the body. Key the name of the writer a quadruple space below the complimentary close. The name may be preceded by a personal title.
