They maintain a national Yoga Teachers' Registry to recognize and promote teachers with training that meets national standards. Teachers that are registered are authorized to use the initials "RYT ® " (Registered Yoga Teacher) after their name, or the initials “E-RYT SM “ (ExperiencedRegistered Yoga Teacher) if they have significant teaching experience in addition to training. The also maintain a Registry of Yoga Schools to recognize yoga teacher training programs of at least 200 or 500 hours. Registered schools are authorized to use the initials "RYS ® " (Registered Yoga School) after their names, and receive certificates of registration as well as registry marks. Once a school is registered, all graduates of an RYS ® are automatically eligible to register as a RYT s. What is covered in the cost of my program? – Your tuition covers your training manuals, supporting and home study review materials. Required reading and multimedia are not included. Snacks are covered during the 8:00-5:00 p.m. residential. Lunch is on your own everyday from 12:00-1:00 p.m. Our tuition does not include lodging. Limited student housing is available on a first come first serve basis. Are there any requirements post residential training or home study? – Yes, in order to meet 200 and 500 hour Yoga Alliance requirements we have added several projects and requirements to get the additional hours not meet through contact hours. These items include: teaching up to 60 hours and documenting feedback from participants, getting CPR certified, doing optional community service projects, maintaining a personal practice journal and doing an atomy and meditation home study mini courses.

Many choose to start their own yoga or holistic health business. We cover professional opportunities during the course of training. Once you register for a program we will talk with you about your goals for the training and help you identify potential sources of employment. If you live in the Kansas City, MO area there are opportunities to work at the KCFitnessLink studio. What is the difference between the Yoga 1000/2000 Hour programs and the Yoga as Therapy Program? – The Yoga 1000 hour is a combination of several training programs: the 200/500 yoga trainings, the Thai Yoga Massage Training, the Sacred Breath Meditation training and the Yoga as Therapy Program. The 2000 hour includes the 1000 hour training programs along with Hatha yoga specialization and an international field experience. The price for the 1000 and 2000 hour programs reflects the cumulative costs for all residential or home study training.
