The Cat

About the game This game is played in Lithuania, it is agile and easy. In the old times, it was played by shepherds.

What you need? A hard-rolled towel or a scarf.

Rules Children stand in a circle and hold their hands behind the backs.

Rules One player goes around, carries “ziuzi“ (a hard-rolled towel or a scarf) and secretly gives it to one of the persons and continues going around until this part of the song is sung: “Katinas ant pečiaus sėdėjo, pelę įsikandęs turėjo”

Rules When a person gets “ziuzi“, he starts beating his neighbour on the right. The neighbour runs around the circle and everybody sings till he reaches his place. “Duok katinui skūron, nežiūrėdamas kurion” The one who beats, must try to catch his neighbour up and beat him as much as he can. Then “ ziuzis“ is carried by the one, who was running after his neighbour.
