RJ-3 Jack Stand kit The Jack Stand is an adjustable stand with a sidewind jack incorporated as a means for fine adjustment and/or loading. Jack design allows for infinitesimal adjustment with no "jumping". The pieces of the Jack Stand disassemble in seconds allowing for quick reassembly in the desired configuration. RJ-3 Base Kit The Base is comprised of a 5" x 6" x 3/16" diamond plate pad. A 6" length of 2" telescopic perforated tubing is pivotally bolted to uprights welded to the pad. This piece is designed to accept a Jack Unit, another section of tubing, or a custom adaptor. Two cam buckle straps are attached to the pivot bolt. Optional hook points are provided for use with a ratchet strap or similar (not provided). In addition four ½" diameter holes are provided on the base pad for anchoring when desired. RJ-3 Jack Unit This jack is a sidewind type jack. Infinitesimal adjustment is made possible through the use of a threaded rod driven by the sidewind crank handle. It is approximately 24" long in its retracted position. A short length of 2.25" perforated tubing is welded to the side of the jack outer tube to allow for the insertion of 2" extension tubing, end fittings, or custom parts. The inner tube of the jack will accept a base, a length of 2" tube, end fittings, or custom parts. Wind right to extend, left to retract. Jack holds position without pinning. NOTE: This jack is designed to be used in compression, not as a winch (in tension). Do not load while retracting. Jack lift capacity: 4000 lbs. RJ-3 Flat Point End Fitting The Flat Point End Fitting is convenient for gaining purchase in narrow pockets where the larger profile end fitting may not be suitable. RJ-3 C-Head End Fitting The C-Head End Fitting allows one to cradle relatively wide members like an ‘A' post to assure a positive hold. RJ-3 Angle Head End Fitting The Angle Head End Fitting offers a narrow cradle which will provide a good purchase on the corner of various structural members. Cambuckle Strap Cambuckle Straps are attached to bolt plates. The bolt plates allow for a convenient connection to the base at the pivot bolt. The straps are 8 feet long. They are provided with an ‘S' hook. The strap webbing is 2" wide black nylon. Cambuckle breaking strength: 2,000 lbs. Hook breaking strength: 2,500 lbs. Bolt plate breaking strength: 3,500 lbs. Webbing breaking strength: 6,000 lbs. Tablock Pin Special pins were selected for ease of use. These pins incorporate a self contained means of retaining the pin. No cotter pins, lanyards, etc. This feature allows for ease of use even with heavy fire scene gloves. Pins are 3/8" diameter grade 8 for superior strength. Note: Our grade 8 pins have an olive green plating to distinguish them from standard grey zinc plated grade 2 pins. Use only grade 8 pins. Clevis Pin & Self Locking Cotter Pin A standard 3/8" diameter grade 8 clevis pin is used to connect the jack unit to the base. Here a self locking cotter pin, or bowtie cotter is used. A standard clevis pin arrangement is used here to avoid interference with other moving parts near the base. Note: Our grade 8 pins have an olive green plating to distinguish them from standard gray zinc plated grade 2 pins. Use only grade 8 pins. Double shear strength: 10,000 lbs RJ-3 Extension Tubing Telescopic tubing is used to offer adjustability to stands. Only two sizes, 2" (12 gauge) and 2-1/4" (12 gauge) are utilized to minimize variation. This feature coupled with stepped end fitting design also eliminates time consuming thought in constructing pieces to meet the situation. Tubing is perforated on all four sides with 3/8" holes for tablock pins on 1" centers. Tubing is galvanized. Maximum column load for 2" tube, 6 feet long: 9,140 lbs.
