CHARACTERISTICS

LIGHTWEIGHT TRANSPORTED AND STORED IN CARRIER FACEPIECE IS MADE OF SILICONE RUBBER WITH INTURNED SEALING SURFACE SO IT CAN FORM A SEAL ON YOUR FACE SECOND SKIN FOR ADDITIONAL PROTECTION FROM LIQUID AGENTS (M40A1 ONLY) QUICK DOFF HOOD FOR EASY DONNING OPERATION (M40A1 ONLY) INCLUDES BOTH CLEAR AND NEUTRAL GRAY OUTSERTS CANISTER QUICKLY AND EASILY REPLACED

CAPABILITIES

WHEN WORN WITH PROPER CANISTER INSTALLED, THE FACEPIECE PROTECTS FACE, EYES AND LUNGS FROM CONCENTRATIONS OF CHEMICAL-BIOLOGICAL (CB) AGENTS, TOXINS AND RADIOACTIVE FALLOUT PARTICLES. THE CANISTER MAY BE INSTALLED ON EITHER SIDE OF THE FACEPIECE

FEATURES

FACE PIECE: Provides a seal Against CB agents HEADHARNESS: Consists of Head pad, forehead straps , temple Straps, cheek straps, and donning tab INLET VALVE DISK: allows filtered air to enter the face piece and prevents moist exhaled air from enter- ing canister

OUTLET VALVE DISK/COVER: releases exhaled air and pre- vents unfiltered air from enter- ing face piece NOSECUP VALVE DISK: allows filtered air to enter Nose cup and prevent moist exhaled air from fogging Eye lenses in cold weather AIRFLOW DEFLECTOR: Directs inhaled air over eye- Lenses to prevent fogging

CANNISTER: Filters out CB agent And other particles From contaminated air FRONT/SIDE VOICEMITTER: Transmit your voice outside the face- piece CARRIER: Provides for storage and carrying of mask.Shoulder strap, waist strap, short strap, adjust- able strap INTERNAL/EXTERNAL DRINK TUBE: Allows operator to drink while wearing the facepiece

HOOD: Rubber coated fabric which protects neck and areas of head not covered by your mask against CB agents OUTSERTS: Fit over face piece eyelense rings to secure outserts to face piece Neutral gray: reduces sun glare WATERPROOF BAG: Keeps mask dry when required by climate and mission

The BDO is a camouflage colored, woodland or desert two piece garment PROTECTIVE GEAR The BDO is a camouflage colored, woodland or desert two piece garment consisting of one coat and one pair of trousers. The BDO provides protection against chemical agent vapors, liquid droplets, biological agents, toxins, and radioactive alpha and beta particles. When remove from its vapor barrier bag it lasts for a minimum of 30 days. The wear time may be extended by the Commander. The key to its effectiveness is its serviceability. Upon exposure, it provides 24 hours of protection.
