Forklift Safety Cage This presentation will cover fall protection when using a forklift safety cage. This training is required for all individuals using the safety cage

Training Outline Topic 1: Attaching the cage to the forklift Topic 2: Safety Harness and Lanyard Topic 3: General Safety Rules

Topic 1: Attaching the cage to the forklift Place the forks through the slots After the forks are secure, pull the pin and flip the safety latch (yellow latch) so that the cage is secure to the forks.

Topic 2: Safety Harness and Lanyard In the first photo you will see the lanyard that should be properly worn with each leg and each arm through the lanyard. The large D- ring should be on your back between your shoulder blades The lanyard (the strap with a clamp at each end) should then attach to the large D-ring on your back and the other end should attach the back of the cage on a secure point.(As shown in the picture)
