Status (24 Jan.) Globus installed on 5 Linux PCs in 3 sites (Bologna, Cnaf, Padova) GSI Seems working MDS Lots of problems accessing the American server !!! Problems with automatic population and update of information Long response time Time out Not possible to test other services (i.e. GRAM)

Status (1 Mar.) Italian MDS Server at CNAF On-going tests: no problems so far 4 PCs already registered (Cnaf, Mi, Pd) GRAM Job submission on remote host works !! On-going installation of Pythia + Cmsim GSIFTP Installed at Cnaf and Padova On-going tests on LAN and WAN Bugs found in the Globus sw
