Richard Wright Life Born - September 4, 1908 Died - November 28, 1960 He was an American Author He wrote short stories, novels and non- fiction stories He was born in Mississippi and grew up in the South He moved to Chicago in 1927 and to New York in 1937

Much of his literature concerns racial themes. His work helped redefine discussions of race relations in America in the mid-20th century Wright was born on the Rucker Plantation in Roxie, Mississippi, He was the first of two sons to Ella Wilson Also an elementary schoolteacher.

In late 1912, the family relocated to Memphis, Tennessee. At the age of fifteen, Wright penned his first story, "The Voodoo of Hell's Half-Acre". class valedictorian of Smith Robertson junior high school

In my story it showed dialect Example from the story- “Ahm going by ol joe’s sto n git that sears roebuck catlog n look at them guns.” Dialect is a form of writing the shows how they would say things like sto and store.

About Almo’s a man It is about a boy that wants a gun to prove he is a man an he convinces his mom to let him get one for his papa but he never gives the gun to his dad and takes it to the fields for work and he try's to shoot the gun and accidentally shoots the plow horse named peaches and the horse dies and he try’s to cover up what he has done but his parents find out what actually happened.
