Egyptians, a great civilization Around b.c. the people near the River Nile formed Egypt with a big king or pharaoh. They were a great civilization. In year 332 b.c. Alexander the Great arrived to Egypt and it was the end of this great civilisation.

Pyramids and monuments The Egyptians knew mathematics and they used for build big monuments, temples and the big pyramids that were tombs for their pharaohs.

Mummification For eternal life of the pharaohs, they had to preserve the body, so they did the mummification, and they had to take out of the body the viscera.

Gods and beliefs They had a lot of gods and they were represented with human body and head of animal. They had sacred animals as: Hippo, cat, jackal, scarab beetle and royal cobra.

Pharaohs In it was discovered the tomb of the pharaoh Tutanknamun with all the treasures. This discovery was the most important for know the ancient Egypt.

Hieroglyphs The Egyptians used hieroglyphs writing, and they put in the wall of the temples and tombs. In summer of 1.798, Napoleon found in the city of Rosetta (Egypt) the Rosetta Stone, that is one piece of slab wiht the same text in Greek, Demotic and Hieroglyphics, so it is like a dictionary for know to read the hieroglyphs.
